“It is possible that Barcelona could sign Caglar this summer, as they wanted to sign him before he moved from [Turkish side] Altinordu to Freiburg in 2016,” he told AS Sport.

“We negotiated with them back then, and they presented an interesting project.

“But we wanted a situation which guaranteed first-team football for Caglar, which is why we chose Freiburg.

“Liverpool are the only Premier League side that could sign him, but Paris Saint-Germain could also be an option.”

Despite the speculation around Soyuncu’s future, he revealed back in April that he has no desire to leave the King Power Stadium.

“I don’t think it would be right to go somewhere right now. I’m having a good season. Above all, I still have a lot to learn,” he explained.

Quique Setien is looking to overhaul his squad in the summer and up to 12 players have been transfer listed.

Marca per Sportsmole have reported that a slew of stars have been told their future lies away from the Nou Camp.

Among the players are number two goalkeeper Neto as well as defenders Nelson Semedo, Junior Firpo, Samuel Umtiti and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Players available from midfield include Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena, Rafinha and Ivan Rakitic while attackers Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite and Philippe Coutinho are also surplus to requirements.
