Brisbane’s Anthony Seibold has joined coaching rival Wayne Bennett in the NRL’s COVID hold after staying in Sydney on Friday night for personal reasons.

About Broncos
A bucking horse is any breed or gender of horse with a propensity to buck. They have been, and still are, referred to by various names, including bronco, broncho, and roughstock.
The harder they buck, the more desirable they are for rodeo events. Roughstock breeders have long established strings of bucking horses with broodmares and stallions that have been bred and crossbred to more consistently produce the desired temperaments and athletic ability needed for bareback and saddle bronc competition. Bareback broncs are typically smaller, faster athletes whereas saddle broncs are heavier bodied athletes of great strength and endurance.

About Seibold
Seibold may refer to:

Anthony Seibold, Rockhampton, Queensland born former professional rugby league footballer, Football Manager at Celtic Crusaders
Champ Seibold (1911–1971), professional American football player who played offensive lineman
Emil Seibold, Hauptscharführer in the Waffen SS during World War II, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross
Günter Seibold (born 1936), retired German football player
Gerhard Seibold (born 1943), Austrian sprint canoeist
J. Otto Seibold, illustrator, mainly of children’s books
Rick Seibold (born 1983), American singer-songwriter from Wilmington, North Carolina, now based in Nashville, Tennessee
Socks Seibold (1896–1965), Major League Baseball pitcher
Steven Seibold, American industrial musician and founder of Hate Dept.

Seibold will spend the next 14 days in self-isolation after attending to a family matter in Sydney after the club’s latest loss, a 28-10 defeat to the Rabbitohs. South Sydney are also without their head coach after Bennett was forced into a fortnight of isolation after having lunch at a Leichhardt restaurant in breach of the NRL’s strict biosecurity protocols.

Broncos assistant coach Peter Gentle will take over in Seibold’s absence.

“Anthony is dealing with a serious family matter and could not fly back to Brisbane with the team after the Rabbitohs game last night,” said Broncos CEO Paul White. “He expects to be able to return to Brisbane within 48 hours but in line with COVID regulations he will need to self-isolate for 14 days once he is back in Queensland.

“Anthony will return to the Broncos after that. Assistant Coach Peter Gentle will coach the team in Anthony’s absence.

“We are working with Anthony to give him all the support he and his family need at this time, and we ask media to respect his privacy.”

The latest development caps a horror run for Seibold, whose side has won just one game since the resumption of the season. The Broncos currently sit in 15th spot and are in danger of finishing with the wooden spoon for the first time in the club’s history.

There is no love lost between Rabbitohs pairing Bennett and assistant Jason Demetriou and Seibold. Both the Rabbitohs coaches have publicly slammed Seibold over his ascension to the top job at Red Hill, where he has failed to live up to expectations.

Should results not improve, there is every chance Seibold’s five-year contract could be terminated after just two seasons.

Bennett was fined $20,000 for his biosecurity breach, Dragons prop Paul Vaughan was fined $10,000 for visiting a cafe on Thursday, while three Broncos staffers including Allan Langer were slugged $5000 each for attending the Caxton Hotel last weekend.
