Darren Till thinks Israel Adesanya would be an easier fight for him following a narrow loss to Robert Whittaker on UFC Fight Island.

Whittaker edged Till on points after a gruelling five-round contest that saw both men exchange knockdowns early on.

About Darren
Darren is a masculine given name of uncertain etymological origins. Some theories state that it originated from an Anglicisation of the Irish first name Darragh or Dáire, meaning “Oak Tree”. According to other sources, it is thought to come from the Gaelic surname meaning ‘great’, but is also linked to a Welsh mountain named Moel Darren. It is also believed to be a variant of Darrell, which originated from the French surname D’Airelle, meaning “of Airelle”. The common spelling of Darren is found in the Welsh language, meaning “edge”: Black Darren and Red Darren are found on the eastern side of the Hatterrall Ridge, west of Long Town. Darren has several spelling variations including: Daren, Darin, Daryn, Darrin and Darryn.
In the United Kingdom, its popularity peaked during the 1970s but declined sharply afterwards. In England and Wales it first appeared in the early 1960s, ranking 66th in 1964, and had leapt to 15th by 1974, but fell to 33rd by 1984 and last appeared in the top 100 in 1994, when it ranked 100th.The name was “first brought to public attention” in the English-speaking world in the late 1950s by American actor Darren McGavin. “It was further popularised in the 1960s by the character Darrin Stephens, from the television show Bewitched.”

‘Another good friend. I’m going to have lay off DM’ing him for a while, all I do is scream at him,’ Till said.

‘I’ve got a lot of respect for Israel, I think he’s a great fighter.

‘This is no disrespect to him but he’s probably an easier fight for me because we’d probably have a striking battle.

‘Rob is a bit different because he mixes it up. I know Israel, he’s a great champion and MMA fighter but he’s a pure striker.

‘I think we’d have a great fight. Rob mixed it up a bit and he’s wild. He caught me with some cracking shots and I was eating them for breakfast.

‘Not at welterweight, cause you know… We’re going to fight, me and Israel are going to fight one day.

‘Give me a little bit of time, I’ll come back and knock someone out. Don’t worry I’m still at the top.’
