Stause, 39, and Hartley suddenly called it quits in November 2019 after two years of marriage. The pair cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

In a trailer for the reality show’s new season that circulated on Thursday, August 6, the reality star revealed how she found out that he planned to divorce her (watch it above).

“I found out because he text[ed] me that we were filed.” In tears she then added, “Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.”

Speaking of their divorce on the show, Stause told her co-star Mary Fitzgerald that she felt blindsided by the news.

“Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f—ing want answers,” she confessed to Fitzgerald.

“I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it’s like, we were together for six years … in a fight, that’s his go-to, you know? Like, ‘I’m out, I’m out.’ I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that’s just an issue that we work through it.”

On the show, Stause said that she didn’t believe that Hartley was going to go through with it because she thought it “must be a joke”.

“If that’s really what you wanted, there are better ways to go about [it],” she said.

“What am I supposed to say? What do you say after that? It’s like, now I have to find a place to live. Now I have to scramble and figure this out, you know?”

Speaking to NECN in July, Stause called their split “an embarrassing, humiliating type of thing to go through without cameras and without people judging you.”

“So I just hope that people, you know, are gentle when they watch this. You know, we’re real people. This was a traumatizing time in my life and it’s going to be hard for me to watch it myself.”

Hartley proposed to Stause in July 2015 after two years of dating. The pair were married in October 2017.

The daytime soap star was married to Lindsay Hartley from 2004 to 2012 with whom he shares a daughter — Isabella, 15.
