About Bikini
A bikini is typically a women’s two-piece swimsuit featuring two triangles of fabric on top that cover the woman’s breasts, similar to a bra, and two triangles of fabric on the bottom: the front covering the pelvis but exposing the navel, and the back covering the buttocks. The size of the top and bottom can vary, from bikinis that offer full coverage of the breasts, pelvis, and buttocks, to more revealing designs with a thong or G-string bottom that covers only the mons pubis, but exposes the buttocks, and a top that covers little more than the areolae.
In May 1946, Parisian fashion designer Jacques Heim released a two-piece swimsuit design that he named the Atome (‘Atom’) and advertised as “the smallest swimsuit in the world”. Like swimsuits of the era, it covered the wearer’s navel, and it failed to attract much attention. Clothing designer Louis Réard introduced his new, smaller design in July. He named the swimsuit after the Bikini Atoll, where the first public test of a nuclear bomb had taken place only four days before. His skimpy design was risqué, exposing the wearer’s navel and much of her buttocks. No runway model would wear it, so he hired a nude dancer from the Casino de Paris named Micheline Bernardini to model it at a review of swimsuit fashions.Due to its controversial and revealing design, the bikini was accepted very slowly by the public. In many countries the design was banned from beaches and other public places. In 1949 France banned it on its coastlines. Germany banned it from public swimming pools until the 1970s. Communist groups condemned it as “capitalist decadence.” Feminists reviled it as the ultimate in male chauvinistic piggery. Nonetheless, the bikini still sold well throughout this period, albeit discreetly. The swimsuit gained increased exposure and acceptance as film stars like Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch, and Ursula Andress wore them and were photographed on public beaches and seen in film. The minimalist bikini design became common in most Western countries by the mid-1960s as both swimwear and underwear. By the late 20th century it was widely used as sportswear in beach volleyball and bodybuilding. There are a number of modern stylistic variations of the design used for marketing purposes and as industry classifications, including, but not limited to, monokini, microkini, tankini, trikini, pubikini, and skirtini. A man’s single-piece brief swimsuit may also be called a bikini. Similarly, a variety of men’s and women’s underwear types are described as bikini underwear.
The bikini has gradually gained wide acceptance in Western society. By the early 2000s, bikinis had become a US$811 million business annually, and boosted spin-off services such as bikini waxing and sun tanning.

On Saturday, the Pitch Perfect star, 40, documented a relaxing dip in the hot tub while also showing off her trademark sense of humor. “Hot Tub Fine Machine 😉,” she captioned a photo of herself lounging inside the water while wearing a lime green bikini.

The actress went on to emphasize another one of her assets, writing, “ps reminding you I have TWO university degree.”

Back in 2019, Wilson reflected on the experience of getting her law degree in Australia — which took her five years. “I’ve never practiced for money, but I could if I wanted to. If it doesn’t work out in movies,” she said during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Although Wilson said that she was already working in Australian television by year two of her studies, as she’d already put in so much work to get into school, she decided to stick it out.

“I play a lot of dumb characters so people were very confused about what I was doing in the contract law exam,” she said. “It took me so long to get into law school, you have to study really hard, so I thought I may as well finish it even though I was already kind of famous. So I did.”

In recent months, Wilson has been sharing numerous updates on her ongoing fitness journey, often documenting her various workouts on social media.

Celebrating the completion of another grueling workout last week, the actress posted an Instagram slideshow from the top of a cliff after a hike in Australia, striking a fierce pose while wearing a teal top and matching leggings.

Back in January, Wilson shared that weight loss is just one of the goals she’s working towards this year.

“I’ll be honest with you guys — with my ‘Year of Health’ mission I’m trying to get to 75kg’s and career wise am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year!” she wrote. “Both of these things are requiring a daily effort and there’s constant setbacks — but I’m working hard.”

“Her healthy journey is more about how it makes her feel than the physical benefits,” a source recently told PEOPLE.

“Rebel has been creating personal goals each year for a while now,” said the source. “2018 was the Year of Fun, and she went on amazing adventures and traveled a lot; 2019 was the Year of Love, and she went on fabulous dates; 2020 is the Year of Health. She has been very focused and dedicated.”
